  • WHICH TYPES OF PROGRAMMES DO YOU OFFER?

We offer an exclusive graduate development programme for talented, adventurous people who are ready for exciting challenges and keen on seizing the world.

The 2-year Programme comprises both fixed and flexible elements, across our global business. The aim is to give you as nuanced a picture of ECCO as possible, meaning we will expose you to different areas of the business and relocate you to different countries.

The HQ onboarding, tannery, production and retail rotations are fixed elements. Each of your job rotations are decided by the Graduate People & Culture team together with senior mentors, depending on the needs of the business.

Our experience with Graduates over the past 30 years proves that you learn and develop the most when you are pushed out of your comfort zone and when doing a real job. Therefore, the programme is aimed at placing you in different areas of the business (maybe even areas you never thought you would work in), as it gives you a better understanding of the responsibilities and pain points of your colleagues. We want you to take a walk in your colleagues' 'shoes'.

  • CAN I WORK IN MANY DIFFERENT DEPARTMENTS, IN ORDER TO FIND MY INTEREST?

Yes, you will work in different departments. Our aim is to increase your commercial awareness by working in different departments to get a better understanding of the responsibilities and painpoints of your colleagues.

You will have 3 job rotations, in addition to the fixed elements. Which areas of the business you work in, will ultimately be decided by the senior mentors together with the Graduate People & Culture team, but your background and aspirations will, of course, be considered. Rotations could be in Supply Chain, Finance, Merchandising, Product Management, Retail Management and Brand Studio.

  • WILL I BE PAID DURING THE PROGRAMME?

Throughout the Programme, you will receive a monthly salary which is regulated every year.

Each Graduate's salary is dependent on their educational background and will be adjusted on each job placement according to globally benchmarked local conditions.

Whilst on the Programme, you will have full travel insurance and medical cover.

  • WILL I HAVE TO ARRANGE MY OWN ACCOMMODATION?

Whilst on the ECCO Graduate Programme, ECCO will always support you in securing suitable accommodation throughout the course of the Programme.

  • WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME AS AN ECCO GRADUATE?

To be an ECCO Graduate, you must be determined, motivated, hardworking and responsible. You thrive on challenges, you are proactive and able to work independently. You possess a global mindset and you are open to work with colleagues from different cultural backgrounds. You must be willing to take on any task given to you, no matter how little or big.

You must have a willingness to travel not only as part of the Programme, but be globally mobile beyond the Programme, as further career opportunities within ECCO may require being based internationally.

  • IS THIS AN ACCREDITED FURTHER EDUCATION?

The ECCO Graduate Programme is not an accredited further education, and your learning is focused primarily on on-the-job learning. You will, however, also have access to LinkedIn Learning and further formal education can be discussed, dependent on business needs.

About applying and the recruitment process

  • WHICH CAREER TRACKS CAN I APPLY FOR?

We do not recruit for specific career tracks. We hire talent that is looking to gain a broader business understanding before specialising in a specific area, after the Programme.

  • CAN I APPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE POSITION?

You will only be able to find one job position on our recruitment website. During the recruitment process, we will consider your background and aspirations and how this ties in with ECCO's long-term strategic vision and business needs.

However, please consider that you must be willing to work in business areas outside of your area of interest during the programme. This to secure a broad understanding of the business, to then be able to specialise after the Programme.

  • CAN I SEND AN UNSOLICITED APPLICATION FOR THE PROGRAMME?

No. We recruit only once a year for a September start, therefore we will not accept applications when our job advertisement is not live.

However, if you are unsure what career you would like to pursue, don't hesitate to apply. We will evaluate your strengths during the recruitment process and, if you are the right candidate for the Programme, help you during the programme to figure out the right career path for you.

  • CAN I COMPLETE MY APPLICATION IN MY NATIVE LANGUAGE?

    Please apply in English.

As we are a global company, English is our corporate language. Our recruitment team also spans several nationalities and English is our only common language, therefore we cannot consider applications in any other language.

  • WHAT SHOULD I CONSIDER BEFORE APPLYING?

    Before applying you should:
    • Make sure your application is in English
    • Ensure you fit the requirements as described in the job advertisement (level of experience, languages, working entitlements, etc.)
    • Reflect on your background and how this will benefit you on the Programme
    • Check out the STAR interview technique
  • AM I ELIGIBLE FOR THE PROGRAMME?

We hire all nationalities and educational backgrounds, from High School up to Master degree. We expect you to be fluent in English.

For us personal competencies are more important than the educational, so check out what we're looking for under the FAQ "What is expected of me as an ECCO Graduate?"
  • MY FILE IS TOO HEAVY TO UPLOAD. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

When you submit your application, you are only able to upload up to 1.5MB at a time. If your file is bigger than this, please divide your file into separate documents and upload one by one.

  • WHO CAN I CONTACT IF I'M HAVING ISSUES WITH MY APPLICATION?

If you are having technical issues applying for a position, despite our best efforts to make it as easy as possible, please reach out to us at students@ecco.com to inform us of the problem.

  • I APPLIED LAST YEAR AND WASN'T SUCCESSFUL. CAN I APPLY AGAIN THIS YEAR?

Yes, you are more than welcome to apply again.

  • I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ECCO EVEN THOUGH THE APPLICATION PERIOD HAS PASSED. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Our experienced recruitment team works hard to recruit the right candidates for the programme and therefore, we kindly ask you to be patient. We aim to get back to you as quickly as possible, but we promise you will hear from us regardless of the decision.

  • IF I AM TAKEN FORWARD IN THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS, WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

In order to ensure you are the right fit for ECCO and that ECCO is the right fit for you, we run a 5-step interview process.

This process is explained above under the section "5 Step Recruitment Process", where we explain the different steps, as well as give you tips and insights into the interview process.

Most importantly, be yourself. We want to ensure that you thrive in the ECCO environment and to do that we need to get to know you properly during the interview process.
